City of Schulenburg, Texas

Schulenburg is a great place to live, work, and do business. From the small town atmosphere with modern urban conveniences to the rural beauty, one cannot find a better location in Texas. We invite you to our hometown to share our quality of life.

If you are seeking a destination that has a strong spirit of community, a sense of its rich history and bright future, where crime is low and the quality of life is high, a great place to raise children, to start or relocate a business, or to retire, our hometown is for you.  The City of Schulenburg is prepared to provide any assistance and information for our consideration to relocate to our unique area.

Schulenburg, the "Gateway to the Rolling Hills" where farming and ranching are staples, is home to quite a number of large industries. Our city produces processed foods, leather products, caterpillar compressors, pumps, commercial printing, plastics, tarps, steel products, oil and gas, auto products and wire products. Clean manufacturing and specialty products characterize our employers as such as:  BWI, a large nursery and greenhouse supplier; Mid-American Dairymen; Contech Construction Products, culvert pipe fabricator; 3-D Belt Co., western belt and purse manufacturer; Prime Industries, plastic container manufacturer. They are proud to call Schulenburg home.

Schulenburg's quality of life and clean environment are vital to our success. The beautiful landscape, climate, fertile soil, and strategic location are the same incentives that attracted the early settlers during the Republic of Texas. Our historical roots are found throughout the town in the historic buildings and Victorian homes, and in the nearby picturesque painted churches that have stood for generations, symbolic of the area's rich Czech and German heritage and our strong work ethic.

Schulenburg has a strong spirit of fellowship, demonstrated by churches of many denominations, the youth activities and the Annual Schulenburg Festival. Since Schulenburg in German means "school town", it is appropriate that we support our schools from kindergarten to college. The Schulenburg Blinn College Campus, the Schulenburg Independent School District and the St. Rose of Lima School, a private Catholic elementary school, offers achievement at the highest level and continuing education that is so vital for employees. Our schools are recognized for their excellence. People have the time to get to know their neighbors and make new friends. We have a clean environment, a productive workforce, low property taxes and no state or local income tax.
